Şahsan Metal — the Surest Route to Quality
Bending is a method of shaping metal, aluminium and steel to make it ready for further processing. It branches into several techniques: manual bending, for example, is performed without heat treatment and without chip removal.
The permanent deformation of metal, steel and aluminium parts without exposure to heat or resistance is called bending. At Şahsan Metal we design every bending operation in 3D and deliver consistently high-quality results.
The most common method for simple bends is to clamp the workpiece in a vice and apply force; dedicated bending machines and die bending are also used. The right approach depends on the material: thin materials are typically formed with a mallet, short parts with a forming block, and wide parts in a vice. In this way metals are bent and shaped, ready for use.
Bend Allowance
The flat sheet length required for a given angle and radius is left as allowance.
Stretching the Metal
Outer layers stretch while inner layers compress.
Metal Bending
The bending machine forms the sheet or metal to the required angle.
